Our 17th century Maison Bourgeoise houses a seperate and independant apartment that offers a retreat to people seeking downtime, fresh ideas, fresh air, and a helping writing hand by established author and teacher John Thackara.
A stay at La Marquise will help you (re-)focus and get inspired. In conversation with John you’ll be guided to smooth out possible cracks in your thesis or dissertation and add, subtract, rethink, mull over and produce – or finish, or start – the fabulous work you’d been imagening.
Writing in your home-away-from-home becomes play.

The apartment offers two bedrooms located at the third, and last, floor. The big bedroom – with a double bed and a single bed – is open to the staircase and within that big space, a small, seperate bedroom is build offering only a single bed, a table and a chair. The same floor offers a bathroom with a bath tub. Both rooms have small work tables and chairs.
There is no TV, but there’s a fine internet connection.
In the cooler seasons you’d be pleased to find a working fire place in the living room next to the desk-corner
For the hotter seasons we’ve found a mobile AC and a large ceiling fan.
